ShuttleIT

• ShuttleIT V-mode - a single hardware unit that connects two separate networks, and allows an automatic transfer of files (bidirectional or unidirectional) while maintaining a complete disconnection between the networks.
• ShuttleIT W-mode - a double hardware unit, an expansion of the V-mode configuration. This solution creates a sterile space for the operation of a content filtering system, protected against attacks from both sides of the separated networks.

ShuttleIT enables flexibility in the location of the data filtering system:

• In V-mode, the file filtering systems are part of the separate networks connected at the two ends of ShuttleIT hardware.
• In W-mode, ShuttleIT creates a sterile space by itself, which is the most secure place to install a file filtering system.

‬ ShuttleIT allows a transfer of files between separate networks in firm directions:

• Uni-directional - one way transfer of files between two separate networks.
• Bi-directional - two way transfer of files between two separate networks.

ShuttleIT - sets directions securely:

• Determined by the hardware, in a firmware, reliable way.
• Cannot be changed by an external attacker.
• Protected from human errors.
• Constantly controlled to prevent irregularities.

ShuttleIT Uni-directional is used for:

• One-way transfer of files from a more sensitive network to a less sensitive network: sending notices from a sensitive network to a public network (like cellular SMS), updating public websites.
• One-way transfer of files from a less sensitive network to a more sensitive network: downloading updates (like anti-virus updates) from the Internet to a sensitive network, downloading trading data from a public website, downloading news updates (e.g., through RSS)

ShuttleIT Bi-directional is used for:

• Two-way transfer that is actually a combination of uni-directional transfers, promising that there is never a direct communication between the two separate networks.
• Two-way transfer, for example for exchanging e-mails between separate e-mail servers, or exchanging faxes between a secure e-mail server and a fax server connected to public telephone lines.

ShuttleIT minimizes risks of transferring files between two separate networks:

• In both configurations, ShuttleIT hardware connects to the two separate networks and transfers files automatically, while maintaining a complete disconnection between the networks.
• In both configurations, no transmission protocol is used between the two networks for the purpose of transferring data, and no human user is involved in the process. This blocks two security holes involved in accepted transfer methods.
